From the field to the software that runs it
I spent twenty-five years in construction and field operations, eighteen of them running telecom and infrastructure programs. I started on tower crews in the late 2000s, installing and testing equipment for AT&T, Verizon and Sprint builds, then moved into network engineering, construction management, network operations and technical project management.
My last corporate role was Senior Program Manager at MasTec Communications Group, where I oversaw the MNS Central Texas Program: multiple multimillion-dollar turnkey fiber buildouts running alongside business-as-usual work and emergency on-demand services.
In that world, bad data doesn’t just cause confusion. It shuts crews down, delays work and burns budget. So I started building the systems myself, first in Smartsheet and SharePoint for real-time tracking and financial reporting, then as full software.
In 2024 I founded TomorrowsTech AI Solutions to do that work for other businesses: command centers, workflow automation, custom platforms and websites, and local AI that keeps a company’s data on its own machines. I also write. The Dark Tides Legends series is my attempt to do for pirate history what I do for field data: go back to the original records and separate what’s documented from what got repeated.
How I work
Fix the foundation first
Most companies don't have an AI problem. They have scattered documents, duplicate spreadsheets and no single source of truth. An agent layered on top of that fails. I start with the data and the handoffs.
Build for the person in the field
My first Smartsheet program existed so crews could close out tasks from a phone. If the person doing the work won't use the system, the dashboard is fiction.
Prevent bad decisions, don't report on them
Good systems catch the missing document or the wrong quantity before it shuts a crew down, not in next week's status report.
Use it before I sell it
I run my own businesses inside the command center I built. Every system I sell, I use first.
